Job Overview
The Campus Director is the operational lead on campus, feels comfortable wearing many hats, and ensures that everyone – students, staff, and community members – feels like family. The Campus Director is enthusiastic about SDG’s vision and fulfilling the organization’s mission through feedback and continuous iteration.
Responsibilities and Duties
Campus Operations
- Ensure an excellent experience on campus by coordinating day-to-day operations
- Network to build and maintain relationships with the community, including students, alums, mentors, and employers
- Coordinate and schedule special events, e.g., Demo Day, Graduation Ceremonies
- Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory rules and procedures
Career Support and Graduate Placement
- Cultivate relationships with local employers to create placement opportunities for graduates
- Perform outreach and follow up with alums for placement statistics and feedback
- Support student job readiness through soft skills training and post-graduation support
Enrollment
- Maintain contact with leads, nurturing the enrollment process throughout the pipeline
- Assist in answering prospective student questions via walk-in, SMS, email, phone, etc
- Oversee the scheduling and conducting of student interviews
Student Experience
- Plan and execute cohort schedules, including but not limited to field trips, career support topics, mock interviews, and guest speakers
- Obtain feedback from students, including through one-on-one meetings and surveys
- Provide direct positive and constructive feedback to students to help them grow and stay on track for graduation
- Provide support for students, responding to inquiries in-person and via Slack and email
Community Liaison
- Schedule Meetups and other events (including on-campus and virtual)
- Coordinate with volunteers to schedule and support Crash Courses and SDG Jr classes
- Engage the community and build awareness through events, community involvement
- Develop a social media marketing strategy in line with SDG’s mission, vision, and values
Skills and Experience
This role requires an individual with the following qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Practical organizational and management skills
- Strong commitment to building a diverse student and community population
- Supervisory, management, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills
The ideal candidate would also have some, but not necessarily all, of the following highly desirable professional experience:
- Proven work experience as a Technical Recruiter
- Extensive local or regional professional contacts in the technology sector
- Special events management, public relations, or marketing experience
- Supervisory experience in code school education
