However, it's very common for students who want to work in web development to attend college, receive a four-year degree in computer science and then not be able to actually apply anything that they learned in class. You can have extensive knowledge on theory and definitions, but ultimately, this isn't valuable to employers if you can't use it and provide solutions for the company.
