It seems like every week, someone's pushing for a new language or technology that you MUST know if you're in web development. Hackernoon is here to cut the noise and tell you which essentials you should start with first.

1. Technical Languages

The best way to decide which language(s) to learn is to see where the demand is. See what web developer jobs are specifically looking for as well as what kind of company you want to work for. The languages are going to vary depending on the size of the company.

C#, Java, Node, C++, and Ruby are mature and serve as solid foundations for you to build on. In other words, they're not going anywhere any time soon.
